Amty's Acts Of Kindness: Celebrating Ami

May 01, 2018

In honor of what would have been Amtul "Ami" Rashid's 67th birthday, Overcoming Life's Obstacles Counseling will match 100% of all donations made today to the Amty's Acts of Kindness (AAOK) fund. AAOK was launched last year to honor and spread Ami's spirit of kindness, generosity, and love for all. We are proud to share that through your support of  AAOK, we have been able to send youth in our community to programs, camps, and assist them with other education related expenses that they otherwise would not have been able to afford. We have been honored to hear from them how attending these programs has helped shape their interest in pursuing higher education and improved their self-esteem.

In addition, at our kick off event, we were able to provide women and children living at the Safe Haven Shelter with food, clothing, and other basic essentials.

No matter how big or small your donation, it makes a difference to those in need within our community. To make a donation, please click on "donate now"

If you are unable to make a donation, please keep Ami in your thoughts today and do a random act of kindness 💕

Please contact Will or Nadiya at: olocounseling@gmail.com for more information.

Amty's Acts Of Kindness: Scholarship Fund

October 01, 2017

Update: We were able to donate over $3500 in scholarships. Three students received scholarships for designing and college programs.  (Names and pictures not disclosed to protect confidentiality)

We are excited to announce the launch of our Amty's Acts of Kindness Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will benefit children and teens in our community by providing them with the opportunity to attend educational and social programs. Our hope is to influence our youth early on and spark their interest in sports and careers that they may not have been aware of or thought they could be "good at."

Amty always loved and supported youth and believed that it was up to the adults in their lives to help channel them in the right direction. We hope to keep her loving and generous spirit alive!

Every amount no matter how big or small will help us give the youth in our community opportunities that they otherwise would not been able to experience due to financial restraints.
